The NYPL Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts has nine boxes of materials related to Irish songster Barney Williams (1824-1876). The collection [see citation below] is mostly handwritten plays and scripts that Barney and his wife Mary performed. Barney performed in America in the mid-1800s mostly in the New York area and also entertained the troops during the Civil War.
